Responsibilities:

Shared Governance Participation: Actively engage in shared governance committees to contribute to decision making processes concerning nursing practices, patient care protocols, and unit policies, thereby fostering a collaborative environment.
Scheduling Committee Involvement: Serve on the scheduling committee to assist in the formulation and maintenance of staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage while addressing staffing challenges and balancing employee needs.
Staff and Patient Assignment Management: Oversee and coordinate staff assignments and patient allocations in the Labor and Delivery unit to ensure efficient workflow, optimal patient care, and appropriate staff utilization.
Pre-delivery and Post-delivery Patient Management: Oversee the assessment and preparation of patients in the pre-delivery area, ensuring readiness for labor and delivery, and provide continuous monitoring and care for patients recovering in the post-delivery unit, facilitating a smooth transition to postpartum care.
Emergency Response Leadership: Provide leadership and support during emergencies or high-acuity situations in Labor and Delivery, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, resource allocation, and effective implementation of emergency protocols.
Patient Monitoring and Support: Oversee and facilitate the management of patient monitoring systems during labor and delivery, ensuring timely interventions for any changes in maternal or fetal condition and coordinating with the healthcare team for effective communication.
Education and Training Coordination: Facilitate ongoing education and training initiatives for nursing staff on Labor and Delivery best practices, including new protocols, advanced equipment utilization, and patient care strategies, thereby enhancing team competencies and promoting patient safety.
Performance Improvement Initiatives: Participate in performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care quality and safety within Labor and Delivery, including data collection, analysis, and the implementation of evidence-based practices.
Patient and Family Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and their families, addressing concerns and facilitating communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience.
BLS and ACLS certification (required).
Additional certifications depending on unit (e.g., PALS, TNCC, etc.).

Compensation:

$37.00 - $42.55 per hour, depending on education and experience.
Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increase, market adjustments, recognition bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.

Relocation: Must relocate to Grand Junction, CO 81505 before starting work.
