The Director of Nursing has Administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for the direction of all systems and functions within the nursing department in the Skilled Nursing Facility. .Responsible for execution of resident care policies. Participates with other administrative staff in organizational activities; maintains active involvement in regional and state professional activities. Coordinates and provides oversight of comprehensive quality assurance program, admissions and infection control programs, MDS nursing services, and nursing inservice and education.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Directly supervises the nursing department, including the administrative nursing team, nurse managers, nursing scheduler and indirectly supervises all nursing department personnel.

Develops a master staffing plan that is adequate to meet the nursing care needs of the patients.

Establishes, reviews, and refines nursing policies to maintain regulatory compliance and industry best practices. Reviews proposed changes with administration.

Ensures that standards of comprehensive nursing care are in place, develops and refines systems to monitor and maintain the delivery of care in compliance with regulations.

- Other job related duties as assigned such as handling issues that arise in the absence of the SNF Administrator, communicating effectively with the Administrator and/or the administrator-on-call.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school
- Current NYS Registered Nurse required
- Previous long term care experience
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 20 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring patients may involve lifting of up to 50 or more pounds. Good dexterity and ability to stand in place for extended periods of time. Ability to move or lift patients with assistance.

- Onsite-Seneca View Nursing Facility
Pay Range Disclosure:
- $126,000 to $132,000 per year
