This position is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing staff development and orientation programs for all employees. Maintains individual clinical and administrative excellence. Develops, implements and maintains clinical competencies. Observes clinical expertise and develops individual performance improvement plans. Participates in Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance Programs as required. Supervision may be exercised over subordinate staff. The Coordinator receives general direction from the Health Center Director, the Director of Patient Services or Director of Nursing.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintains individual clinical and administrative excellence
- Plans and implements orientation program for all new personnel
- Leads and or assists as directed by the NATP Primary Coordinator the Nurse Aide training classes
- Evaluates competence of new staff at the conclusion of individual orientation program
- Develops and presents group education programs
- Reviews clinical documentation, conducts announced and unannounced supervisory home visits or clinical observations to evaluate adherence to practice standards and regulatory requirements
- Responsible for quality assurance activities including audits, reports, and participation on committees and work groups
Required Skills and Experience:
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered
- College or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and one (1) year of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse at least six (6) months of which must have involved staff development, education or supervision; or Graduation from an approved school of professional nursing with an Associates Degree or Diploma Nursing Program and eighteen (18) months of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse at least six (6) months of which must have involved staff development, education or supervision.
- Must have current Train the Trainer Certification
- This position could be FT or PT hours.

- 1 year long term care experience

- $80,000 to $90,000 per year
