In the summers, you can even go boating on Lake Erie, which forms most of Ohio's northern border.

Having access to the Big Cs also means that you can immerse yourself in a diverse culinary and cultural scene. You can find authentic Polish pierogies in Cleveland, Nepalese food in Columbus, and, of course, the classic chili-topped spaghetti that was invented right in Cincinnati. Ohio experiences four distinct seasons, with summers reaching the mid 80s and winters dipping to an average low of 30 degrees. Snowfall is fairly moderate throughout the state, but you may see more snow the further up north you go.

A big perk of living in Ohio is the cost of living, which is 17.3% lower than the national average. The housing market is quite reasonable, with the average home costing roughly $230,250. Everyday necessities like groceries tend to be cheaper than in other states as well.
