RN Medical Chart Reviewer

Position performing chart review to identify eligible research patients for clinical trials. The person in this role will work independently and must have clinical experience with strong attention to detail. Must be willing to learn about research protocols, with a focus on eligibility criteria, and must be informed of Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protections in research, with a commitment to confidentiality of patient records.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review the health record of active patients, searching for potential matches for unopened Clinical Trials, with attention to genomic biomarkers and other relevant patient information within the electronic medical record
- Familiarize yourself with research protocols, research processes and eligibility requirements for clinical trials that CMC has in our available portfolio
- Carefully track reviewed patients in a log that accurately captures desired eligibility elements
- Participate in weekly meetings with our sponsor (approximately one hour) to review patient status, review questions regarding Study protocols, receive patient feedback, and identify process improvements
- Promptly respond to questions from the sponsor in regards to imminent match questions and provide watch list updates
- Accurately account for your time in this role and supply a log of time spent each month to the sponsor and Program Manager
- This position is Per Diem and will be 5-10 hours per week.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must have a degree from an accredited professional nursing education program
- Must be a Registered Nurse with a current, unrestricted license in NY State
- Must have 2 years minimum clinical experience
- Must have experience accessing and utilizing Electronic Medical Record systems; specific experience with Aria and Meditech is preferred
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Research experience with training in Good Clinical Practice and Human Subject Protections
- Should demonstrate good interpersonal skills, clear communication skills and a professional demeanor
Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally.
