Emergency Department - RN

Purpose of Position:

Assess, plan, coordinate and render skilled nursing care to patients while applying standards for professional nursing practice. Provide care ranging from non-urgent to life threatening, including but not limited to, medical illness, trauma care, pediatric care, gerontological care, injury prevention, women’s health, mental health issues and life- and limb-saving measures.

Uphold the organization’s vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization’s policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.

Essential Functions:

Utilize nursing processes to care for health care consumers of all ages

Carry out patient assessments, diagnoses, planning, and implementation of interventions, evaluating the patients’ responses to the interventions including emotional, social and safety needs

Assist physicians during examinations and procedures

Perform various patient tests and administer medications as prescribed by the physician

Triage, prioritize, and assist in the stabilization, resuscitation, crisis intervention and/or emergency preparedness of the consumer

Perform other duties as assigned

Knolwedge of general patient care with an emphisis in emergency medicine
Knowledge of documentation requirements for specific fields/records

Amount:	3-5 year(s) working as a Registered Nurse	0 (years)
Type:	3-5 year(s) working as a Registered Nurse	0 (years)
	Must have both general and supervisory experience if indicated.
Credentials	Licensure, Certification, Etc.
	Alaska RN License, BLS, ACLS PALS within one year of hire; TNCC preferred

Physical Requirements:

∙Use hands and arms to operate office or clinical equipment

∙Sit less than half the workday

∙Stand and/or walk more than half the workday

∙Bend, stretch, twist, crouch and/or reach

∙Use hands and arms for repetitive motion tasks

∙Lift or carry unaided 25 to 50 pounds

∙Push or pull using more than moderate force

∙See and hear with normal acuity

Working Conditions:

∙Work is conducted in a standard clinical environment to include exposure to latex, biohazard or other harmful substances

∙No travel required
