GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This position assists our nursing and medical staff in helping to provide care and treatment to residents of the Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC). WLRC is part of the State of Wyoming Department of Health. Our team members enjoy excellent benefits and compensation package!

- Perform duties in the medical clinic, such as scheduling appointments based on availability and urgency, managing cancellations and rescheduling, communicating and reminding resident guardians and facility staff, checking residents in, and preparing and stocking exam rooms.
- Assisting medical providers, licensed staff, and other staff as needed with resident healthcare needs. Document in resident healthcare records and ensure confidentiality and proper handling of patient information as needed. Assist with managing resident health maintenance, such as vision/hearing/mammogram exams, consent, and other routine needs.
- Perform a variety of clerical duties, including but not limited to, maintaining tracking of external and internal resident health records as indicated, auditing of resident health records, and ensuring accuracy with care provided to residents.
- Assist as needed with managing central supply, including but not limited to, monitoring and maintaining current inventory, tracking of incoming and outgoing supplies, reporting and addressing discrepancies, stocking, rotating stock, and monitoring of expiration dates. To ensure correct products are ordered and assess the supplies on hand to anticipate shortages or non-use.
- Assist with direct resident care coverage as needed. Measuring and recording of height, weight, intake and output, vital signs, and documenting accurately of all care provided. Observe, and report signs, symptoms, and changes from baseline to the appropriate clinical staff.
- Assist dentist, dental hygienist, and healthcare assistant as needed.
- General healthcare clinic upkeep; areas tidy, office equipment is stocked and functioning, monitoring of office supply levels and request orders as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
PREFERENCES: Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification or ability to obtain this certification within three (3) months of date of hire is required. WLRC does offer the CNA course in-house as well.
KNOWLEDGE: - Ability to teach residents in formal and informal settings.
- Ability to interact positively with people with multiple and severe disabilities, co-workers, supervisors, families, and the public.
- Ability to communicate positively and accurately verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain emotional control in stressful situations.
- Ability to consistently use and demonstrate basic principles of infection control.
- Ability to sufficiently observe and monitor resident safety and communicate subtle changes to nursing staff.
- Knowledge of basic Nursing Assistant procedures and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of diseases and disabilities that affect elderly people and individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health issues.
- Knowledge of the maintenance and use of nursing equipment.
- Ability to be a positive and effective member of a team.
- Ability to perform CPR and First Aid.
- Knowledge of and ability to properly use good body mechanics.
- Ability to document information in a consistent and meticulous manner.
- Knowledge of behavioral interventions and ability to intervene during resident behavioral episodes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience Substitution:
1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Healthcare)

Education:Associate's Degree (typically in Healthcare)

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:- Ability to safely move, position and lift people with multiple and severe disabilities (requires twisting, bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling).
- Ability to monitor sounds, noises, location of clients, etc. to assure safety and assess imminent danger and emerging concerns.
- Ability to work alone and/or with multiple clients.
- Ability to work in high-stress situations.
- Ability to intervene during client behavioral episodes, as necessary.

- The Wyoming Life Resource Center participates in E-Verify. We will provide the Social Security Administration, and if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security, with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.
