Delegate work and provide supervision to professionals and other personnel involved in the delivery of patient care.
Participate in the day-to-day operations of the department, under supervision of nursing manager/director.
Act as a clinical and operations resource person maintaining current knowledge of clinical practice and departmental operations.
Audit, report, and educate staff on nursing documentation and meeting professional and JCAHO requirements.
Plan daily staffing coverage according to department needs and appropriate skill mix, monitor staffing level on a daily basis, and modify staffing based on patient acuity, current technology, and available resources.
Recruit, interview, hire, orient, and evaluate employees as directed
Maintain employee accountability with all hospital policies and procedures.
Inspects department and completes routine environmental rounds, safety rounds as prescribed by organizational safety plan and regularly rounds on all patients to assure that needs are met and resolves any issues that are identified.
Participate in performance improvement, monitor compliance of core measure initiatives, and review charts to evaluate compliance with quality standards.
Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
2 years of nursing experience in relevant clinical area.
Supervisory/ management experience in a healthcare setting
Emergency nurse certification.
