Quality Analyst RN

Summary

The Quality Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting clinical data elements on eligible cases as required for participation in the Michigan Hospital Medicine Safety Consortium (HMS), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Collaborative Quality Initiative (CQI) or any other third party, where there is a contractual agreement. In conjunction with lead physician, analyzes and identifies areas for quality improvement. Coordinates, collects, and submits medical data, procedures, to external registries. Responds to requests from departments to compile reports for ongoing quality projects and initiatives related to Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) events. In collaboration with Manager, works with external third party auditors such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield and HMS to collect data and ensure that standards are met or exceeded. Queries and collates patient study information for Manager, Physicians, Quality Committees, and Service Line Director.

Responsibilities

(30%)* In conjunction with lead physician, analyzes and identifies areas for quality improvement in the Hospitalist Program using external web based registry outcome reports to implement quality improvement programs.

(30%)* Coordinates, collects, and submits Medical Inpatient data (history, procedures, outcomes, etc.) to external registries. Responds to requests from departments (Hospitalists, Pharmacy, Blood Bank etc.) to compile reports for ongoing quality projects and initiatives related to Medical Inpatient events.

(25%)* Works with external third party auditors such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield and the HMS CQI who collect data, provide national benchmark information and set standards for quality care to collect data and ensure that standards are met or exceeded, in collaboration with Manager.

(15%)* Queries and collates patient study information for Manager, Physicians, Quality Committees, Service Line Director, for the preparation of reports for presentations. Presents information via written reports or in meetings utilizing computer software and projection equipment.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates and facilitates regularly scheduled quality improvement meetings to share relevant data.

Attends all mandatory training and meetings as required by CQI Coordinators.

Works with other team members for cross coverage and assistance on project work.

Demonstrates and maintains positive interpersonal relationship skills interdepartmentally, in order to promote positive outcomes.
