The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) manages the administrative and clinical aspects of the PACU, which includes organizing, developing, directing, and assuring the delivery of quality, patient-centered, cost-effective patient care. The Assistant Nurse Manager provides education to staff based on their clinical and theoretical expertise and will partner with the Nursing Leadership team and PACU caregivers to assess and implement process improvements as needed. The role also oversees staffing to ensure proper clinical resources and the continuity of patient care. Providing patient care is included in the ANM’s responsibilities. The hours of this full-time ANM position are primarily three 12-hour shifts per week, 9am-9:30pm. Some on-call shifts might be required for overnight and weekend hours.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) REQUIRED.
- Two years of recent RN experience in an acute care PACU is required.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire.
- Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills.

Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
- Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
