Registered Nurse Team Lead
Registered Nurses at Cayuga Medical Center are an integral part of the collaborative interdisciplinary team devoted to the delivery of comprehensive and compassionate care to the Tompkins County community. RNs are able to practice at their full scope of practice, and have the opportunity to engage in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and services with the goal of improving patient outcomes, and execute an optimal plan of care in a shared governance environment.

- Maintains patient flow within the department (admissions, transfers, discharges, etc.).

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Manages productivity and is accountable for day-to-day adjustments in staffing. Documents deviations from staffing plan with explanation. Adjusts staff schedule to optimize unit coverage.
- Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.
- Flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities not noted above.
- License: Active New York Nursing license, out of state nurses are still eligible to appl
- Minimum education: Associates Degree in Nursing
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (new hires have the opportunity to obtain these certifications during introductory period)
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., Use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.
