Part-time 1:1 RN needed for Medically Fragile Student - Gardner, KS

The Part-Time School Nurse will be responsible for providing essential medical care to a student with special needs. This role involves driving to the student's home, accompanying them on the school bus to and from school, and managing their medical needs throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive to the student’s home and transport them to school via school bus.
Ride the school bus with the student to and from school and then return to your own vehicle.
Administer and monitor all hydration, tube feedings, oral blends, and medications as prescribed.
Be familiar with and manage medical equipment, including feeding tubes and pumps, suction machines, and oxygen tanks.
Ensure the student’s medical needs are met promptly and accurately.
Maintain detailed records of medical care and communicate with parents and school staff as needed.

Qualifications:

Valid nursing license in the state of Kansas.
CPR certification.
Experience with feeding tubes, pumps, suction machines, and oxygen tanks.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Requirements:

Must be available to work from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM CST, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Comfortable riding the school bus with the student and managing their medical needs during the bus ride.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with parents and school staff.
