CNA CLASS DETAILS AND SCHEDULE
MMC-BD will be hosting a CNA Class starting October 7, 2024.
Please sign-up by September 6, 2024.
The program includes 40 hours of online learning followed by 40 hours of live skills education and clinical training in Hillside Manor. The CNA class will be held Monday – Friday at Hillside Manor. Upon class completion, graduates must work a minimum of a .5 FTE which includes every other weekend and holiday rotation at either Hillside Manor, Remembrance Home or Eagle's Wings. There is a one year commitment to working with MCHS.

-Full-time Day Shift (6:30am-2:30pm)
-Full-time PM Shift (2:30pm-10:30pm)
-Part-time PM Shift (2:30pm-10:30pm)
-Full-time Night Shift (10:30pm-6:30am)
JOB SUMMARY
The Pre-Certified Nursing Assistant is accountable for the provision and promotion of quality service to the population of Hillside Manor Nursing Home and practices within corporate policy and nursing standards under the supervision of the RN and LPN. The Pre-Certified Nursing Assistant will work under the direction of the CNA or Instructor at all times.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Resident Care:
1. Provides personal care, bathing, and grooming needs as delegated by licensed staff and in accordance with accepted standards of practice.
2. Maintains nutritional needs including fluids and snacks based on resident’s individual needs.
3. Completion of all restorative and Range of Motion (ROM) programs.
4. Participates in the hourly rounding program to ensure safety to the residents.
5. Provides excellence for the residents by displaying characteristics of care, compassion and empathy.
Communication:
6. Reports changes in resident status to RN, and other team members.
7. Participates in care planning and behavioral meetings.
Documentation:
8. Documents completely, accurately and timely according to department guidelines using ECS.
9. Safeguards patient confidentiality in verbal, written and computer documentation.
Safety:
10. Ensures resident safety through accurate use of safety devices, participation in post fall huddles and follow through of Care Plan.
11. Knows and follows policy and procedures for safety precautions.
12. Utilizes sound principles of body mechanics.
13. Uses standard precautions, uses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and uses appropriate linen and waste disposal.
14. Regular attendance is required in order to carry out the essential functions of the position.
15. Reviews and meets ongoing competency requirements of the role to maintain the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform, within scope, role specific functions.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
1. Protects organizations value by keeping resident information confidential.
2. Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: At least 17 years of age or turning 17 years of age within the next 30 days and enrollment in the CNA course required. Those under the age of 17 may not commence clinical work until their 17th birthday.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: CNA Certification required within 120 day of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
