GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Wyoming Retirement Center is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse ready to provide excellent healthcare services. The Wyoming Retirement Center is a long-term care facility. This position requires an RN to provide quality health care to persons with mental health, dementia, and medical needs in a home-like setting. Our goal is to stabilize and help the persons we care for attain their highest functional level.
The position is part-time.

- Provides professional nursing services in chronic as well as acute care settings.
- Performs nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment & evaluation of ill and disabled persons.
- Accurately prepares and administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
- Assists with ADL (Activities of Daily Living).
- Trains and assigns work to LPNs and CNAs.
PREFERENCES: Although preference may be given to those individuals who have six (6) months of experience in a long-term care setting, new graduates are welcome to apply.
KNOWLEDGE: - Knowledge of laws, principles, practices, techniques of professional nursing, and Standards of Nursing Practice.
- Knowledge of the maintenance of medical records, charts, reports, and observations.
- Knowledge of medication administration and mathematical calculations for the correct dosage.
- Knowledge of the aging process, medical problems, diseases, and behavioral issues.
- Knowledge of work management and leadership theory and practice.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to healthcare.
- Knowledge of and ability to function and make decisions in high-stress situations.
- Knowledge of skills necessary to use good oral and written communication skills to articulate thoughts and medical terminology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Nursing)
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of an LPN
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: - Lift/transfer persons in our care to different positions.
- Lift persons and/or medical equipment of varying sizes and weights up to about 50 lbs.
- Work holidays, evenings, nights, and /or weekends as scheduled.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 5 shifts per month. (Shifts are 12 hours)
