Overview

6th floor Surgical – Ortho

FTE - Part-Time (0.6 FTE) & Full-Time (0.9 FTE) Available

Shifts:

Days - 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM or 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Nights - 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM or 7:15 PM - 7:15 AM
$10,000.00 New Hire Sign-on Bonus avilable for full-time (0.8 FTE or higher) offer! *
Shift & Weekend Differential! *
46-bed medical-surgical unit, care for pre- and post-operative surgical patients
Nurses trained in various surgical cases: knee and hip replacement, abdominal surgeries, thoracic and vascular cases
Care for general medical patients
Nurses care for patients on telemetry

Responsibilities

Delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required on assigned unit in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.
Consults appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education.
Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.
Continues professional development and involvement in professional activities that enhance nursing practice by sharing knowledge through networking and research.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Diploma from an RN program.
Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state. Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Work may occasionally require travel to other UPH facilities.
