POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of your job position is to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during your tour of duty. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. You will monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled. In addition, as the Infection Preventionist (IP), along with Community leadership and the Medical Director, you will ensure that current standards of practice related to infection prevention and control are incorporated in resident care and employee actions. The primary purpose of the IP’s job is to oversee the planning, organization, development, direction, and evaluation of the infection prevention and control program throughout the Community in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations. Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the facility's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures.

Education & Qualifications:

Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN within the state in which you work.
Must possess a current CPR certification.
Must be able to communicate in English and have theability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Must possess and demonstrate the ability to carry out both verbal and written directions.
Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and community staff in the performance of duties.
Ability to observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.
Have completed (or complete within first week of hire) specialized training in infection prevention and control (ex. CDC’s infection and control modules or other qualified infection control education). Any additional state-specific training required for the position will be completed at the earliest available opportunity.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.

Experience:

Minimum two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role in a hospital, nursing facility or other related healthcare facility, preferably in long term care.
Possess experience teaching or training adult learners and have prior experience/training in Infection Prevention and Control processes.

Shift & Wage:

Full Time Opportunity Available
Shift Needed: 10:00am-6:00pm or 11:00am-7:00pm
Wage: Competitive
- Shift differential for 2nd, 3rd, and Weekend Shifts
