JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provide support to the psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and nurses. Work under the day to day supervision of a licensed nurse. Position involves taking vital signs, drawing blood for labs, returning calls to patients, patient education, and other duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in notifying patients of the outcome of prescription refill requests in accordance with company policy. Assist Physicians/NPs with direct patient care as directed by providers, nurses, and company policy.
Assist patients with completion of application for Patient Assistance Programs through pharmaceutical companies and with obtaining authorization for medications through Prior Authorizations with insurance companies
Provide lab services for patients by performing phlebotomy and collecting urine and saliva samples.
Assist in the management of CLIA waived laboratory including quality assurance testing, inventory, and other duties as assigned.
Work with the nursing staff to assist physicians/CNS with patient weights, vital signs, AIMS assessments, completion of lab requisitions, and entry of lab values.
Regular and reliable attendance is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level

Certification from an Accredited CMA or RMA program is required

Years of Experience

Minimum one year experience in mental health care experience is preferred.

Certification/Licensure

Phlebotomist certification
