RN Residential Manager
Monday-Friday, 40 hrs
We are seeking a Residential Manager at SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital - Neuro Transitional Center, opening quarter 1 of 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to change lives. The Neuro Transitional Center has 12 beds and is designed to provide intensive rehabilitation to individuals with an acquired brain injury or spinal cord injury who are unable to safely return home at the time of discharge from an inpatient rehab hospital due to the severity of their impairments. Currently, 93% of our patients return to their homes at discharge from NTC, and now will not have to leave the state to receive this level of service.
Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Directs residential operations to ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance. Promotes employee engagement and patient/family satisfaction. Oversees day-to-day operations of the residence, patient care and staff education through implementing program philosophy and systems to achieve program goals. Leads employees to deliver a value based program through assuring patients and families are treated with respect and dignity and monitoring that they feel safe, secure and comfortable in the facility. Serves as listed administrator of the residence.
Job Duties:
- Directs residential facility operations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and, CARF accreditation standards.
- Participates as part of the leadership team to ensure program quality and adherence to NTR policies and procedures, risk management program and program philosophy are consistently delivered.
- Oversees direct care staff across all environments of care. Ensures orientation, annual education and competencies are reflective of regulatory and accreditation standards. Implementing the inclusion of key components of NTR program philosophy including at a minimum the transdisciplinary team model, risk management program, environmental focus, effective communication, documentation compliance and accuracy, adherence to patient plan of care and daily patient activity tasks.
- Ensures the center meets NTR standards for safety, aesthetics, cleanliness, organization, decor, maintenance, and landscaping.
- Provides on the floor training demonstrating skilled execution of the treatment model, approaches and interactions with patients and families consistent with program philosophy, best practices within scope of license.
- Attends and provides input into required meetings which may include clinical and leadership huddles, team conference, family conferences, admissions meeting, quality meeting, site specific meetings, and other meetings as needed.
- Implements plans in collaboration with leadership to ensure annual and ongoing employee feedback through corporate surveys, training feedback surveys and other ad hoc surveys as needed. Assists in analysis of results and implements action plans to address concerns and promote employee engagement.
- Ensures patient council meetings are conducted monthly and patient feedback is shared, concerns addressed and incorporated into program performance and management.
- Oversight of transportation, and vehicle maintenance ensuring compliance to NTR policies, risk management program, state and accreditation standards.
- May occasionally transport patients into the community.
- Participates in on call rotation.
- Ensures recommendations of outside specialty consultants are integrated into the patient plan of care by direct care staff.
- Oversees the operational expenses to ensure compliance to budget.
- Supervises food and material management to ensure the center has adequate supplies and compliant with corporate, regulatory and NTR standards for emergency preparedness, processing and receiving.
- Ensures compliance with NTR performance measurement and management program including incident report, investigation, RCA reviews, tracking and analysis of direct care quality metrics within scope of license.
- Evaluates performance of assigned staff.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (including licensure, certification and other job-related credentials)
- Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.
- Current State Driver's License in good standing required
- Knowledge of staffing patterns/ratios preferred
- Two years of leadership experience in an assisted living or neuro transitional rehabilitation environment preferred; experience with acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury population preferred.
- Ability to delegate and problem solve effectively.
