RN - Diagnostic Imaging - Ambulatory Care - Supplemental

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: One year recent clinical experience in acute care and/or medical/surgical.

Preferred: AHA PALS, and OCN; 1 year experience in acute care telemetry within past 3 years.

Lic/Reg/Cert: Current Oregon RN license.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

Ability to exert up to fifty (50) pounds. Able to sit, stand, walk for prolonged periods of time. Able to lift, position, push and/or transfer patients. Able to do considerable stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Demonstrates and applies an in-depth knowledge of nursing principles, practices, standards and techniques. Maintains a current awareness of the abilities and limitations of each staff member and assigns duties appropriate to each individual.

· Demonstrates an ability to communicate effectively using pertinent data with physicians, patients, families, and peers.

· Capable of being a positive role model in evaluating, correcting, and re-directing patient care staff as needed.

· Delegates tasks appropriately to ancillary personnel, considering licensure, training, expertise, and needs of the patient.

· Performs efficiently in emergencies, following established policies, remaining calm, informing appropriate people and documenting events.

· Collaborates with peers and other disciplines in planning of care and communicates critical path/plan with team.

· Perform moderate sedation procedures in diagnostic imaging

· Assists in procedures that require general anesthesia

· Monitor pacemaker patients during MRI exams.

· Performs and maintains skills and competency on an annual basis in Ambulatory care and Diagnostic Imaging as evidenced by completion of initial orientation, annual, and new procedure checklists.

Age Specific Competencies:

· All individuals in direct patient contact position shall meet or exceed age specific performance requirements by demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide care to any and all age groups served (infant 0-11 months; pediatric, 1-12 years; adolescent, 13-17 years; young adult/adult; 18-64 years; adult/middle aged, 65-79 years; geriatric, 80+ years).

Equipment Competencies:

· Able to troubleshoot unit specific equipment.

· Reports, replaces, files work orders, on all malfunctioning equipment.

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs other duties as assigned.
This position takes mandatory call for diagnostic imaging.
