Manager, Finance Signature Service Lines

Position will plan, direct, and coordinate the financial activities of the Signature Service Lines (Children’s Hospital, Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, Cancer Institute, and Heart and Vascular Institute of WVUH and UHA (“Service Lines”) including budget development, variance analysis, financial forecasting and management reporting. This position will work closely with the service lines’ leadership team to ensure accurate budgeting and strong monitoring of financial results across the clinical, research and commercialization aspects of the service lines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1 Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or other related area

EXPERIENCE:

1. Five (5) years of experience in accounting/finance field.

2. Two (2) years of experience with demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. CPA certification OR Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience in Healthcare preferred.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Facilitates the Service Lines’ annual strategy and budget process in collaboration with the leadership team.

2. Lead day to day financial operations for the Service Lines, including serving as service line liaison to Revenue Cycle departments for both WVUH & UHA.

3. Oversees the capital budget process for Service Line with directors and managers in accordance with WVUH and UHA capital budget procedures and policies.

4. Oversees on-going actual-to-budget variance analysis and forecasting. Communicates directly with Service Lines and Finance leadership regarding negative variances.

5. Continuously identify budget performance improvement and margin enhancement opportunities and communicate to Finance and Service Lines’ leadership.

6. Directs and evaluates financial processes to maximize efficiency in daily Service Lines’ Finance operations.

7. Coordinates the completion of financial analysis related to and in support of new services, provider and staffing needs, and long-term strategic initiatives of the Service Lines.

8. Collaborate with Finance & Reimbursement team on the completion of larger scale financial projections related to the Service Lines.

9. Oversee the work and development of Service Lines’ financial staff.
