Job Summary

The Manager Clinical Operations is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for the management of Riverview Health Physician’s (RHP) Float Pool, training and education initiatives, process/protocol development and improvement in all RHP practices, and helping manage third-party vendors and platforms used within RHP practices.

Job Responsibilities

Hire, train and manage the performance of direct reports. Deploy float staff throughout RHP to assist Practice Managers with covering staff schedule vacancies. May perform the same tasks as staff to include clerical, clinical, financial and inventory functions.
Develop and monitor department financial budgets and expenditures; review, explain, and resolve variances, and provide financial reporting as needed
Plan, develop, coordinate, implement and deliver clinical orientation for new employees. Assist in maintaining electronic and paper employee education files.
Partner with leadership in assessing clinical and non-clinical education needs. Plan, develop, implement and deliver continuing education programs for RHP personnel and provide reports to management on continuing education programs as needed or required. Collaborate with other Riverview Health committees, education and compliance staff, or other leaders to ensure alignment of efforts and avoid duplication.
Oversee current training programs and externships and maintain positive relationships with community partners and vendors. Explore opportunities to develop new partnerships for training programs/externships based on current or anticipated workforce needs.
Measure the success of training programs and modify programs, as needed, to drive clinical competency of RHP staff.
Partner with RHP leaders to discover best practices and challenges, evaluate work processes. Use the information along with available data to develop and implement workflows that positively impact patient experience, staff productivity, and drive results associated with organizational goals and objectives.
Assist Practice Managers in developing individual action plans to assist them with implementation and effectively managing the change.
Assist with the management of external vendor relationships specific to RHP with a focus on the associated service workflows. Research and evaluate vendors, as needed, to supplement RHP services with the potential of improving efficiencies and/or quality of care.
Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

Minimum – Associate degree from an accredited school of nursing
Preferred – Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing

Experience Requirements

Minimum – Five (5) years of experience in the outpatient setting (can be a mix of nursing and other roles) and two (2) years of supervisory experience
Preferred – experience creating and delivering clinical education and experience with EPIC

License/Certification Requirements

Registered Nurse valid to practice in the state of Indiana
BLS (American Heart Association)
