BLS - American Heart Association (AHA) TrainingProvide oversight of the proper administration and quality of the ECC courses thataligned instructors provide.
Provide aligned instructors with consistent and timely communication of any new or updated information about National, Regional, or training center policies, procedures, course content, or course administration that could potentially affect an instructor while carrying out his or her responsibilities.
Serve as a principal resource for information, support, and quality control for all AHA instructors aligned with the training center.
Demonstrate that the training center has the most current AHA ECC training material in its courses and ensure course participates have the most current course materials for use.
Demonstrate that the training center offers classes that are open to the community.
Demonstrates that the training center provides instructors with resources for obtaining equipment, marketing, or organizational support for community courses, in support of the AHA ECC mission.
Maintain general liability insurance requirements of the training center agreement and submit to AHA Training Network Support Center on an annual basis.
Maintains files and documentation for all course activity for aligned instructors:*Instructor Monitor Forms*Instructor Renewal Checklists*Instructor Records Transfer Requests (within 30 days of receiving a Records Transfer Request)*Documentation of administrative or disciplinary actions taken.
Demonstrate that all instructors are aligned with the training center on the instructor network
Maintain a list of all aligned instructors with their instructorID number from the instructor network.
Demonstrate knowledge of AHA ECC programs.
Maintains the management and storage of the training center records.
Maintains the required documents for at least 3 years from the date of action:*An original or a copy of the current, signed TC Agreement*Documentation that the TC has the appropriate minimum general liability insurance coverage or waiver as stated in the TC Agreement*Documentation of any issues identified during a TC Quality Assurance Review and steps taken to resolve the issue(s)*Agenda for each course provided by the TC if the standard course agenda is not used*The following written policies and procedures:-Equipment/Manikin maintenance and decontamination-Quality Assurance Plan (updated annually)-Internal TC dispute resolution policy-TS management/relations-Card maintenance and issuance*Course files-Completed course rosters-Documentation related to dispute resolution (attach to course roster as indicated)-Originals or a summary of course evaluations (used by students to rate the course and instructor)
Demonstrates responsibility for the security and distribution of course completion cards.*Name of the Training Center should always be printed on the course completion card*Instructor's ID number must be included on all course completion cards* Course completion cards are to be stamped, typed or computerprinted.
Demonstrates responsibility for the security and distribution of exams to aligned instructors.
Communicates with instructors the current information from AHA, including Science Updates, Training Memos, Bulletins, and the ECC Beat.
Teach aligned instructors their renewal courses and provide updates to the instructors of any changes to policy and procedures.
Demonstrate that all updates meet the timing requirements defined with each product or materials release.
Facilitates and teaches BLS, HS, HS and 1• Aid and Bloodborne Pathogen courses as needed.
Prepare and deliver lectures on CPR to groups of varying size and age.
Teaching students the proper techniques for performing CPR, including chest compressions and rescue breaths.
Providing instructions on how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Creating a supportive learning environment where students can practice CPR techniques.
Demonstrating the correct use of first aid equipment and techniques.
Evaluating students' performance and providing constructive feedback.
Keeping up-to-date with the latest CPR guidelines and protocols.
Ensuring all training equipment is clean, functional, and properly stored.
Administering and grading tests to certify students in CPR.
Employee HealthAssist with pre-hire on boarding process of all staff.
Review and analyze PPD, immunizations, or other reports.
Maintain employee health records to include immunizations and document in TENNIIS.
Screen all incoming staff for Medical history, immunizations, ppd status, drug screen and respirator fit testing.
Implement the staff influenza vaccination program annually.
Infection PreventionPerforms environmental inspections/rounds on a monthly basis. Immediately initiates any urgent control measures, notifies appropriate person of observations, actions taken, and recommendations. Maintains written summary.
Ensure compliance with policy for identifying, notifying, and evaluating employees exposed to communicable diseases during course of employment.
Monitor employee compliance during surveillance rounds with the exposure control plan and use of PPE, evaluate PPE needs, and evaluate effectiveness of interventions.
Outreach / Community WellnessProvide community and industrial CPR classes as requested.
Provide industrial vaccinations such as Hepatitis B and TB Skin testing.
Participate in Health Fair/Screenings as requested.
