Description

Oneida Health Cancer Care, a Roswell Park Care Network member, is looking for a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team at our outpatient William G. Griffin Medical Oncology Center in Oneida. The center includes 12 exam rooms and a 12-chair infusion floor led by our experienced team comprised of one board-certified physician and two Nurse Practitioners. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can “hit the ground running” as this practice is positioned for growth. The role is Monday-Friday, with consult call responsibilities two weeks every eight weeks. Additional compensation is provided when on call.

Compensation: $110,000 to $135,000 per year based on experience

What You’ll be Great At:

Assessing and establishing a presumptive diagnosis and implementing treatment plans
Making accurate and complete entries into the electronic medical record (OncoEMR)
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing and consults as appropriate and prescribing appropriate medical therapy utilizing evidence-based practice
Prescribing, adjusting, or discontinuing medications or therapies as appropriate
Evaluating and reporting to the physician any circumstances or test results that present a significant risk to the patient's health or well-being
Performing procedures within the scope of practice of the Nurse Practitioner license.
Communicating appropriate information to physicians, patients, PCP, and referring staff
Instilling confidence in patients acting as their advocate by providing safe, ethical care and health education to the patient and family

Qualifications

Your Essential Qualifications:

Education:
- Masters of Science in Nursing
License:
- NY Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive authority
Experience
- A minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting (ICU/IM/ED/Hospitalist) or two years of nurse practitioner experience is preferred. (Oncology experience preferred)
Certification
- Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioners (AOCNP) are preferred.
