ResponsibilitiesThe Risk Manager/RN Occupational Health is responsible for the execution of the Ardent Risk Management Program across their facility. This position develops and supports facility level Risk Management activities and programs. This position will manage the Risk Management needs across the facility, including Risk Management policy and procedure implementation, risk identification and mitigation, provide Risk Management related education, support and event investigations. This position also establishes, manages, and evaluates comprehensive health services by providing Occupational Health nursing services to Ardent Health employees in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and policies/protocols under the direction of the Market Director/AVP Risk Management. This position will support patient safety and quality activities as needed.

6. Reviews event reports and acts appropriately with our TPA, Worker’s Comp vendor, and employee to ensure appropriate care, follow-up, and action planning.
7. Implementation of the AHS Risk Management Program within the respective facility / facilities.
8. Timely response and resolution for reported patient complaints and grievances per CMS requirements.
9. Champion of strategic Risk Management initiatives, including Premium Credit Programs
10. Provide oversight and management of daily Risk Management needs (guardianship events, disclosures, etc.)
11. Participate in the annual Enterprise Risk Assessment
12. Data collection and information support for annual insurance renewal processes
13. Responsible for implementing and meeting key Risk Management metrics for respective facility / facilities
14. Implementation and management of Risk Management policy and procedure within the local facility
15. Participate in Risk Management investigations
16. Support and participate in patient safety and quality improvement activities as needed, including root cause analyses or other patient safety investigations
17. Provide Risk Management education, annually at a minimum, and ad hoc based on trends / needs
18. Risk Management representative for various hospital committees
19. Incident report management and resolution
20. Participate in necessary discovery, mitigation and resolution efforts related to legal demands and/or proceedings related to potentially compensable events
21. Implementation facility specific projects and initiatives related to specific risk mitigation needs and strategies
22. Provides employees with education on personal health and safety. Inform employees of test results, instructs employees on health care or refers them to appropriate health professionals
23. Pre-employment immunizations/vaccinations
24. Pre-employment, random, and reasonable suspicion drug screening
25. Consultation and referrals for non-occupational health concerns
26. Reviews and investigates employee accidents, injuries, exposures to hazards and communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens and follow-up as indicated
27. Posts all communications to ensure compliance including Workers Comp and OSHA
28. Responsible for OSHA reporting and log. (including form 300 and 301)
29. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing situations
30. Must be able to quickly evaluate and prioritize requests.
31. Ability to manage employees and physicians in stressful situations
32. Must be well versed in HIPAA laws and keep employee documentation and information confidential
33. Must be willing to work as part of a cohesive team to care for employees and deliver exceptional customer service
34. Must possess computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office/Windows computer applications
35. Reviews employee absenteeism statistics
36. Must comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and policies of the hospital.
37. Identifies problems or services which could be improved, recommends actions, revises forms/procedures and communicates to the Director of Occupational Health. Performs or collects data on specific monitoring activities.
38. Other duties as assigned by the Market Director, Risk Management / AVP Risk Management / Chief Risk Officer

· Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing
· Registered Nurse licensed to practice in applicable state
· Basic Life Support Certification
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
· Ability to plan, develop, and present programmatic materials in front of an audience greater than 20 people, including senior leadership at the facility and corporate levels.
