Job Description:
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides medical evaluation and treatment of John Muir Medical Center patients in collaboration with and under the direction of the Supervising Physician. The NP performs duties according to standardized procedures which have been developed collaboratively by John Muir Medical Center administration, medical staff, nursing, Supervising Physician, and Nurse Practitioners and approved by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Board. The NP is a registered nurse who possesses additional preparation and skills in physical diagnosis, psycho-social assessment, and management of health-illness needs. The NP assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients, provides information to patients on health maintenance and disease prevention, and counseling. The NP provides healthcare in a collegial relationship with physicians to patients at John Muir Medical Center.

Must have experience in one of the following specialties: Surgery, Oncology, OB, Hospitalist, Intensivist, Psychology, Gerontology, Urology, Non-Invasive Cardiology or Trauma
Certifications/Licensures:
RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing - Required and
NP Registered Nurse Practitioner - CA Board of Registered Nursing - Required and
NP-F Registered Nurse Practitioner Furnishing - CA Board of Registered Nursing - Required and
FNP Family Nurse Practitioner - ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center - Required or
Related NP clinical license or certification through ANCC or
NP Nurse Practitioner - AANP American Academy of Nurse Practitioners - Required
DEA Drug Enforcement Agency - US Dept of Justice - Drug Enforcement Administration - Required
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to manage patient's health and illness.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, manage time, and prioritize work in collaboration with others
Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, and motivated. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Basic computer literacy to operate a computerized client/family information system, word processing and email.
OBGYN experience preferred

Pay Range:
$83.53 - $125.29Hourly
Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
