How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:
This is a Human Resources Education and Organizational Development position primarily located at Giles, but may have coverage in the Western Division which consists of NRV, Giles, and Tazewell.
Provide quality education programs, professional development opportunities, and at-the-elbow support for clinical and non-clinical departments.
1. Implement Educational Programs:
⦁ Collaborate in development of educational materials tailored to diverse audiences.
⦁ Implement training and professional development programs for staff.
⦁ Serve as classroom instructor and provide at the elbow support.
2. Assess Educational Needs:
⦁ Assess the educational needs of different populations.
⦁ Customize educational programs based on the specific needs and preferences of the target audience.
3. Ensure Regulatory Compliance:
⦁ Assess and incorporate continuing education requirements and healthcare regulations.
⦁ Keep up-to-date with evidence-based practice to drive education programs.
4. Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals:
⦁ Work closely with key stakeholders to identify educational needs and develop relevant content.
⦁ Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
⦁ Provide mentoring and coaching to support staff development and advancement.
5. Monitor and Evaluate Program Effectiveness:
⦁ Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make necessary adjustments based on feedback and outcomes.
⦁ Prepare reports and documentation based on outcomes and impact.
6. Stay Current with Healthcare Trends:
⦁ Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in healthcare, medical research, and educational techniques.
⦁ Integrate new information and best practices into educational programs.
What We Require:
Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required. BSN required, Master’s prepared preferred (Education, quality, nursing, healthcare or business).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field required.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Current RN license in the state of Virginia required. Must obtain and maintain appropriate certifications as defined by the department. Nursing certification preferred ( i.e. Nursing Professional Development (NPD), Certified Nurse Educator (CNE)
Other Minimum Qualifications: Meets standards on Performance Appraisal including competency validation as appropriate for level of care. Demonstrates effective communication and strong organizational skills. Desires to work with new employees. Effective interpersonal, communication, and team-working skills required. Strong critical thinking, conflict resolution, organization and effective judgement abilities required. Supports Carilion Clinic’s mission, vision, and values.
