Home Health Clinical Nurse Supervisor (RN) - Bronson At Home - Full-time
Under general supervision from the System Manager and/or Vice President of Bronson at Home, and in accordance with the policies and guidelines established within the organization and individual unit, the Home Health Clinical Nurse Supervisor’s priority is to function as leader and clinical liaison with staff, physicians and management, providing continuity of leadership day to day. The Home Health Clinical Nurse Supervisor acts as a role model, mentor, coach and resource person to staff to ensure all unit standards are maintained and to encourage a team environment. The Home Health Clinical Nurse Supervisor` is involved in assisting managers in attracting, developing, maintaining, and retaining qualified staff members. Duties may include assisting with hiring, orientation, monitoring and evaluating performance, problem solving, employee counseling, staffing, payroll and budget. In addition to duties involving unit personnel, the Home Health Clinical Nurse Supervisor serves as a contact for internal and external customers. He/she is responsible for maintaining a safe environment of care, which fosters positive customer service and meets all quality standards, implementing new and monitoring ongoing processes. This role provides opportunity for leadership succession. The Home Health Clinical Nurse Supervisor utilizes effective communication and leadership skills to support staff, solve problems, and `make appropriate decisions. The Home Health Clinical Nurse Supervisor functions in a manner that supports the goals of the unit and the organization. Works well independently as well as with others. The Home Health Clinical Nurse Supervisor in conjunction with the Manager splits 24-hour responsibility and accountability for supervision of the clinical operations, regulatory compliance, financial resources, program development and day-to-day oversight of the department. The Home Health Clinical Nurse Supervisor is responsible for workflow process development, planning, organizing, and directing the day-to-day activities within the unit. The Home Health Clinical Nurse Supervisor participates in the development and update of the annual Quality and Patient Safety Plans at Bronson at Home. This position collaborates with Bronson At Home Quality and Safety Manager in conjunction with QA and PI efforts. The Home Health Clinical Nurse Supervisor is responsible to evaluate and oversee clinical staff. They act as a role model, coach and mentor to staff, as well as a resource and contact person to staff and to others within and outside of the organization. The Home Health Clinical Nurse Supervisor ensures that all department standards are maintained as well as encourages a team environment and maintains positive customer service. Responsible to monitor and maintain approved department budget. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing and 5-7 years RN experience with 1-2 years RN experience in a home care setting required.
- Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Formal or informal leadership experience preferred.
- Current Licensed RN in good standing with the State of Michigan required.
- Current driver's license in the state of Michigan required BLS certification required.
Driving your own vehicle on a regularly scheduled basis to perform business on behalf of Bronson is required for this position and will require successfully pass of MVR check after an offer of employment has been made but prior to the employee’s start date. Proof of valid auto insurance on that vehicle that will be driven while on duty for Bronson is required. It is the employee’s responsibility to submit auto insurance renewals before current coverage expires to their supervisor. It is also the employee’s responsibility to update their auto insurance coverage with Bronson if a different vehicle will be driven to perform business on behalf of Bronson.

Involves regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (i.e., up to 50 pounds), and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment, and other objects. • Manage day-to-day operations of department o Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines re: patient care activities o Create and maintains a favorable work environment o Establishes and maintains a CMS and The Joint Commission standards of practice o Initiates and facilitates change to improve quality and promote efficiency o Evaluate and accept new client referrals that meet admission criteria o Assigning necessary disciplines required for care with overtime monitored and schedules updated o Serves as liaison concerning clinical matters involving other health care professionals o Keep Manager informed of concerns that may impact department o Assumes responsibility for profession development o Reviews clinical documentation in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner o Participates in chart review and staff in-services o Corrects and adjusts billing issues o Participate in department budget o Participates in quality improvement and process improvement initiatives • Human Resource management o Interview, hire, evaluate and scheduling of staff o Provides supervision and evaluation for clinical staff and implements disciplinary action when indicated o Oversees assignment of clinical staff to promote quality patient care and cost-efficient management • Financial management o Adherence to productivity standards, efficient use of resources o Effectively work within budgetary restraints • Assure regulatory CMS and The Joint Commission compliance • Continuously assess and improve the performance of care and services provided o Facilitate department meetings, performance improvement meetings, quarterly clinical record reviews, case conferences, etc. • Implementation and adherence to organizational goals and attendance at Leadership meetings • Identify learning needs of patients, families, and staff and assumes responsibility for professional development • Perform all other duties as assigned
