As the Nurse Manager for K4, our Leukemia/Lymphoma unit, you’ll lead a team of Nurses, Clinical Staff Leaders, and Patient Care Associates who practice at the top of their craft.You’ll serve on the frontlines of care for some of our most critical populations, serving children in leukemia, lymphoma, and hematology.
Under the general supervision of the Departmental Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager is accountable for promoting high quality patient care through efficient and effective management of a defined area.
Development of staff to meet organizational and professional standards, for unit, division-wide, and institutional planning that supports the philosophy of the division of nursing, patient care services and the mission of SJCRH.
Has 24-hour accountability for their unit(s), provide the vital link between the administrative strategic plan and the point of care.
The Nurse Manager implements continual performance development by selecting and hiring qualified applicants, evaluating the performance of staff nurses, providing feedback, and mentoring.
The Nurse Manager collaborates with other Nurse Managers, House Supervisors, and Shift Leaders to efficiently and effectively integrate high-quality patient care delivery.
The Nurse Manager supports the organization as a change agent, oversees the throughput of their respected areas, ensures competency and professional develop of staff to meet organizational and professional nursing standards.
The Nurse Manager creates, monitors, and analyzes budget according to forecasts in future revenue and expenses.

Minimum Education and/or Training:
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field required.
- If the Bachelor's is not in Nursing, then Master's must be in Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), required. Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum requirement: 3+years of nursing/ clinical experience of which 1+ years should be supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
- Pediatric Oncology experience, preferred.
- Specialty course for clinical area completed or demonstrated knowledge.
- Knowledge of standard nursing equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on the assigned unit.
- Knowledge of the principles of growth and development for all ages served.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and interpret age specific data about the patient’s status.
- Experience managing teams; Experience leading projects/ processes end-to-end and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other computer applications.
- Proven performance in earlier role.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:
- (LC: RN-TN) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a non-Nurse Licensure Compact state.
- (LC: RN-ARK or RN-MISS) Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:
- Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) from the American Organizational for Nursing Leadership (AONL) or Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC) or Nurse Executive Advanced Certification (NEA-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Association (ANCC) or Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Certification from the Association for Professional Nursing Development (APND) required within 2 years of hire
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $104,000 - $186,160 per year for the role of Inpatient Nurse Manager-Kay 4.
