We seek intern candidates who have a strong interest in pursuing a future RN position on this unit as we consider the intern role an investment in orientation.

Considering May 2025 grads only- BSN preferred

All future RN opportunities will likely be on night shift so must be comfortable committing long term to working nights in the RN role.

Intern schedule is one 12 hour shift per week and must be able to commit to this schedule while in school.

Prefer candidates who have some hospital patient care experience outside of school

West 10 – Surgical-Medical Unit

West 10 is a 24-bed acute care unit. Inpatient surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, ear/nose/throat, cranial facial and plastic surgery, urology, and trauma patients.

Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs nursing tasks for which he/she has been trained and has demonstrated competency through a skills checklist.

Senior level status in any nursing program required. Ability to communicate and understand detailed instructions relating to basic patient care and transport. Must be able to work and stand for long periods, as well as lift and position patients weighing up to 75 pounds.

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Health & Safety Association
