The Walton County Health Department is seeking a PH Nursing Supervisor. Under limited supervision, manages nursing and other clinical services at a county health department. Provides overall management and administrative guidance, assesses needs, develops policies, and collaborates with others in provision of services to target populations. Provides professional nursing care to clients in all programs. The ideal candidate will not only excel in providing high-quality patient care but also possess strong computer skills to effectively manage electronic health records and other digital tools used in modern healthcare.
As a nursing supervisor within the Walton County Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
- Leads and manages staff with responsibility for the functioning of assigned nursing care areas during assigned shifts.
- Chart information regarding patient: progress, diagnoses, medication, symptoms, and observations.
- Supervises Certified Nurse Assistants, clerical and nursing staff for assigned units.
- Assumes responsibility for administrative decisions and notifies the county nurse manager, health director and administrator on call when needed.
- Provides leadership in the delivery of quality nursing services and support.
- Ensures that departmental quality, satisfaction, and regulatory compliance standards are consistently either met or exceeded.
- Works to continually improve the quality and timeliness of the provided care and services.
Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of nursing experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification
OR
Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND Two years of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.

Annual salary $70,000 plus, generous benefits include 13 paid holidays, annual and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement plans.
