Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Medical Assistant/ Care Coordination performs a variety of patient care and clerical activities to assist physicians, nursing and clerical personnel. Prepares, compiles, and maintains appropriate records and reports in accordance with established guidelines and procedures to ensure responsible coordination of the patient’s visit. Demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 1+ year experience in pediatrics preferred. One-year related clerical or equivalent experience in a medical setting preferred. Experience in clinical data entry experience in medical transcription or equivalent training. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Broad knowledge of computer software including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation applications; keyboarding skill level at 45wpm. Bilingual preferred. Language proficiency testing required according to policy MHR 23.1

Education/Licensure/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent, graduate of an accredited medical assistant program required. California Medical Assistant certification preferred. AHA CPR required.

Pay Scale Information

$42,016.00-$72,478.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
