Overview

Purpose Statement/Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse, under general supervision, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

5 East is 32-bed medical/surgical unit that cares for a broad range of patients, both in complexity and age. Primary patient populations include NICCU graduates, respiratory diagnoses such as bronchiolitis, genetic diagnoses such as cystic fibrosis or sickle cell anemia, and patients with neurologic disorders or seizures. 5East takes pride in its ability to work as a team and are looking for potential team members who are willing to work under the motto “We share in our care”.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience1+ year experience as an RN. Pediatric experience preferred. Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment; CHLA patient care policies and procedures. Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.Education/Licensure/CertificationBSN required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California. Current American Heart Association CPR certification. Current American Heart Association PALS card.

Pay Scale Information

$99,424.00-$171,506.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
