Job Description:
Monday - Friday Eight (8) hour Schedule, 0800-1630 excluding holidays. Schedule may change due to facility needs. Must be flexible with schedule to accommodate evening and weekend education/orientation.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a registered nurse in Nebraska and education or experience in planning, developing, conduction and evaluating training or adult development courses and training adult learners.
Other: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation for work-related travel.
Position is to develop and deliver training focused on Veterans' Home member population applicable to healthcare licensed and non-licensed staff , particularly the Nursing Service staff including assessment of competency. Present and facilitate learning/development events such as New Employee Orientation, basic nurse aide and medication aide courses, communication and interpersonal skills, work place safety, workplace processes and other work place initiatives. Train end-users on computer based information systems and computer programs commonly used in NDVA. Provide consultation, assessment, and research services. Facilitate processes, recommend strategies and design, develop and deliver training to staff with varied learning styles. Provide learning management including: curriculum development, participation entry, transcript management and report development. Translate standard NDVA business process, cultural standards, work expectations into learning events and experiences for NDVA staff .
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidate must prepare a short presentation for the interview, showing how you present and teach. Candidate will have Registered Nurse experience. Prefer three years experience in training end users, health professionals, para-professional staff . Abilities related to excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to be creative, proactive and "think out of the box" to identify process improvement opportunities. Skill in project management and simultaneously working with details and big picture ideas. Ability to work independently as well as on a team and with confidential information; Learn NDVA policies and procedures to provide information to employees, supervisors and the general public. Must be reliable, responsible and dependable to job obligations with a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges. Must successfully complete requirements for American Heart Association CPR Instructor within 6 months of employment.
