- Penn Medicine is in search of a dedicated and experienced Senior Clinical Manager to support our growing multi-specialty Department of Medicine practice at the Radnor location. In this critical leadership role, you will leverage your clinical and managerial expertise to oversee all clinical operations for a team of over 40 skilled clinical staff, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Medical Assistants. Serving a diverse community of 70+ physicians and nurse practitioners across nine divisions—including Primary Care, Geriatrics, Sleep, Allergy, Travel, Renal, Transplant, Endocrine, and GI—this position offers a unique opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing care team. With a focus on quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and the ongoing enhancement of a CARE TEAM model, you will play an essential role in advancing our practice’s commitment to excellence in patient, employee, and partner satisfaction.
Summary:
- The Senior Clinical Manager is responsible for consistent and comprehensive patient care delivery in the ambulatory practice setting. The Senior Clinical Manager is responsible for maintaining the highest level of patient/customer satisfaction, education, research initiatives, and patient confidentiality. The Senior Clinical Manager demonstrates that employee and partner satisfaction is a precursor to patient satisfaction. The Senior Clinical Manager's role is to balance and achieve all three: Patient, Employee, and Partner Satisfaction. The Senior Clinical Manager is responsible for continually assessing the clinical care team to ensure quality, compliance with governmental agencies, and patient access.

- Complexity Factors (may involve a few of the following factors of practice complexity): multiple practice locations, high practice/facility square footage, service line oversight, coordination of inpatient services, coordination of care across several departments/entities, academic involvement (research initiatives, resident program), special clinical programs, multiple clinical specialties, complex regulatory requirements, management of external partnerships/collaborations.
Responsibilities:

- Oversee clinical operations in the practice: Including budgeting/billing ( where applicable ). Manages and oversees schedules, pay practices, and time card review approval. Clinical project management. Strategic and operational planning. Quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives. Penn Safety Net Management. Regulatory compliance (TJC, CMS, DOH, OSHA).
- Maintain a focus on Quality and Safety Priorities including but not limited to the application of a quality improvement framework (FOCUS PDSA), High Reliable Organization principles, and safety event follow-up.
- Patient Care: Provides oversight to the team as it relates to the seamless delivery high high-quality and safe care using effective processes and tools.
- Communication: Fosters an environment where proactive communication and problem-solving are expected. Establishes communication expectations that enable high performance of team and individuals.
- Change Management Provides support to entity and practice leadership to proactively develop change management strategies for major organizational and practice activities and events. Implements change management strategy within the practice in alignment with entity/Penn Medicine. Manage routine and crisis communications through the practice/community as they arise. Demonstrate recognition of the systemic impact of employee communications to and/or policy changes and solicit proactive feedback before implementation.
Credentials:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
- Registered Nurse - PA (Required)
- ACLS or BCLS or PALS (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
- 7+ years total clinical experience which includes prior RN and leadership experience (Required)
- Master of Arts or Science (Preferred)
