Overview:
Soliant Education is partnering with a school district in Renton, WA, to find a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team and provide high-quality healthcare services to students. As a school-based RN, you will play a key role in ensuring that students have a safe and healthy learning environment.

This position is a full-time, school-year role, where you will support the health needs of students, provide first aid and emergency care, and manage student health plans. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who is passionate about working with children and contributing to their academic and physical well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct health services to students, including first aid, emergency care, and the management of chronic health conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments, maintaining accurate records in compliance with district policies and regulations.
Develop and implement Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions or special medical needs.
Conduct health screenings and assessments (e.g., vision, hearing, scoliosis).
Serve as a liaison between the school, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care for students.
Educate students and staff on health issues, including hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
Monitor and manage student immunization records and ensure compliance with state health regulations.
Participate in emergency preparedness and response planning, including the management of student health emergencies.
Maintain confidential health records and follow all district policies regarding student privacy and confidentiality.
Provide health education to students, staff, and families as needed.

Qualifications:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Washington.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
Ability to remain calm and focused in emergency situations.
Knowledge of common childhood health conditions, allergies, and medications.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

School Nurse certification or experience working in a school health environment.
Pediatric nursing experience.
Familiarity with the school health programs and procedures in Washington state.
