Our clinic hours are 7AM to 4PM Monday - Friday, so no evenings, weekends, or holidays - this provides an excellent work life balance!
This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period) opening. The tentative schedule for this opening is Monday - Friday, eight hour shifts.

Responsibilities Job DescriptionThe registered nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and providing professional care for patients in an ambulatory setting. While following established standards and protocols, the RN delivers care that is unique to all ages served by the clinic. The RN provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established nursing standards and practices. As a member of the patients care team, the RN supports quality patient and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high standard functions within a care team to support the needs of the team and patients. The nurse will educate patients and the public about various medical conditions, maintain complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually look for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.
- Provides care according to the plan, in accordance with all policies, procedures, and relevant nursing practice guidelines, Involves the patient, their support network, and other health care team members in assembling data
- Identify outcomes that are age appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic, and attainable
- Coordinates nursing care with all other health team members
- Modifies the interventions based on patient response and changing conditions
- Prioritizes work based on acuity, provider schedule, available resources, and patient preferences, in conjunction with the provider
Provides care to patients in an ambulatory dermatology clinic setting by supporting in-person patient care with general dermatology providers, MOHS procedures, patient assessment of condition as needed and clinical resource.
- Have thorough knowledge of all clinical treatments to appropriately care for the patient’s needs. Proficient in pre-care and post-care treatment instructions. Fully understands provider to patient flow and anticipates provider’s next steps to the best of their ability.
- Assist the physician in Mohs surgery, medical, cosmetic, and/or laser procedures.
- Preps procedure/exam rooms for all procedures and properly cleans exam rooms after every visit.
- May administer medication, injections/local anesthesia per physician instructions.
- Properly assists provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization, obtaining consents, and/or procedures within established guidelines.
- Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Conducts pre- and post-operative education with patients.
- Assist physician during all procedures, including but not limited to passing instruments, blotting, cutting sutures and bandaging of surgical site.
- Bandage surgical sites, prepare proper discharge paperwork, review wound care instructions with patient, and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
- Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
- Provides accurate care and handling of specimens.
- Monitors patients’ physical and emotional well-being throughout the care continuum and provides basic, bedside care.
- Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician. Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their post-treatment home care needs, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Current Minnesota RN License
- 2 years of dermatology clinic and MOHS procedure experience in a clinic setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of previous healthcare experience in ambulatory care settings
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Willingness to work at various sites is encouraged
