Responsibilities
Work Schedule:Normal schedule is Monday - Friday, 9 hours between 6:00am and 6:00pm, including a one-hour lunchNo Call, No Weekends, No Holidays!
Job Specific Duties: The type of work may include, but is not limited to, the following: Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to advocate for the health needs of individuals and diverse populations across the lifespan and continuum of care. Utilizes the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.• Apply evidence-based, telehealth-specific interventions to achieve agreed upon outcomes during virtual encounters according to state regulations, regulatory agency standards, and appropriate organizational policies and procedures• Knowledge of preventive health schedules, disease management, population health principles, and education methods.• Strongly preferred working knowledge of the military health care system including TRICARE health benefits or a working knowledge of the principles of fee-for-services, preferred provider network, and managed care/HMO organizations is highly desirable.• Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use to include knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patients’ condition including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.• Apply evidence-based decision support tools, instruments, and other resources relevant to the provision of nursing care utilizing telehealth technology, critical thinking, and clinical judgment.• Using clinical algorithms, protocols or guidelines to systematically assess and determine patient's perception of his/her immediate needs and concerns, identifying the patient's desired course of action• Use professional nursing judgment to supersede triage decision support tool recommendation when clinically indicated and err on the side of caution if in doubt when determining disposition during triage encounters.• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality, and cost effectiveness.• Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.• Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.• Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.• Direct and supervise care provided by other healthcare professionals.• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.• Function independently in a highly collaborative environment, maintaining personal professional responsibility for assessing all symptom-based encounters.• Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.• Perform nursing services identified in the TO.• Conduct research in support of evidence-based practice in order to improve practice and patient outcomes.• Document telehealth interventions and services provided in the patient record, including modifications, changes, or omissions of identified plan
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Education: BSN required
* Experience: Minimum 1 year experience within the last 2 years. Telehealth knowledge/familiarity required. Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records. Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient conditions including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care. Knowledge of disease management and population health principles. Knowledge of preventive health schedules, procedures, processes and education methods. Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions and disease processes across the lifespan, as appropriate. Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing pediatric, adolescent, adults, obstetrics, and geriatric patients, as appropriate. Utilizes the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
* Licensure/Registration: RN license from any state; BLS through AHA or ARC
