Heritage Oaks is looking for a part-time Assessment & Referral Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team! The Admissions Nurse is a Staff RN who is responsible for assuring that the admission process is carried out properly. The RN utilizes the nursing process and adheres to established standards of care, mental health practices, and hospital policy, goals and objectives in executing this responsibility. This position also assures that admissions are managed in a timely and courteous manner.
- Conducts and documents the Direct and Comprehensive assessments required for patients to determine dispositions.
- Participate in screening patients for admission into hospital programs, utilizing pre-approved admissions criteria.
- Reviews referrals and determines appropriateness for patient admission criteria with assistance of policy and procedures.

Qualifications Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of the hospital’s designated physical and behavioral management training program, including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint, required prior to assisting in the procedures. Incumbent may be required to work overtime or flexible hours.
