Job Summary and Qualifications
- Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs
- Assists with patient care needs, to include transport of patients, in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and members of the health care team
- Assists as a member of the surgical team in patient positioning, supply readiness and location Individualizes pre-op, intra-op, and post-op planning and preparation to meet the needs of each patient
- Provides terminal cleaning and between case preparation and understands technical requirements of cases and required room arrangements
- Facilitates smooth and efficient transitions between surgical procedures
- Maintains clean, safe environment and adheres to aseptic principles
- Participates in lean 5s activities
- Restocks unit supplies to maintain efficiency in the delivery of care
- Recognizes when and how to escalate patient concerns up the chain of command
- Prepares the surgical; suite/clinical area, supplies and equipment to ensure safety for patients and personnel
- Assists with the surgical procedure
- Participates in other routine duties as needed
