Summary:
We are currently searching for a Full-Time Center Director/RN to work Mondays – Fridays in a close-knit team setting with staff and physicians, performing a variety of tasks. The Center Director/RN is responsible for coordinating and directing activities of the Center according to accepted standards and for the fiscal activities of the center. This role works collaboratively with the Director of Nursing, Senior Clinical Director, and Director of Operations to oversee the supervision and direction of nursing care, patient care, center scheduling, and billing according to the centers policies, procedures, and objectives. The Center Director/RN is responsible for management of all aspects of personnel, education of personnel, and administrative duties, and works closely with the Governing Board and center staff in coordinating patient and staff service functions.
Major responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the Center to ensure patient safety and highest quality of care is provided.
- Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center.
- Recommend, develop, and update short- and long-term strategic plans to support the Center’s philosophy and goals.
- Oversee clinical and administrative operations, with a focus on quality improvement and business development.
- Provide direction on staffing decisions and operations to drive efficiencies, while ensuring quality and patient safety.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting body; ensure compliance with the Center’s policies and procedures.
- Serve as primary liaison between the Governing Board, the medical staff, facility staff, health system partner, and the management company.
- Oversee financial performance of the facility, develop operations budget and capital budget, and make operational decisions that support the Center’s financial goals and objectives.
- Work in conjunction with the QAPI Committee and the Governing Board in the evaluation and development of existing and new surgical service lines, and the recruitment of new physicians.
- Oversee human resource matters and personnel management in all departments, to include performance reviews and disciplinary actions; ensure high employee morale and a professional, positive, and healthful atmosphere.
- Overall patient engagement and experience, including the Center’s Patient Satisfaction performance.
- Work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure appropriate management of the Center and our Partnership.
- Work closely with the Physicians, covering for nurses and assisting with procedures when required.
- Oversee credentialing per Medical Staff Bylaws; collaborate with the Medical Director and QAPI Committee as appropriate.
- Serve as a member of the QAPI Committee; collaborate with Clinical Director to successfully implement Quality Assurance Performance Improvement program, Infection Control Program, Pharmacy Program, Radiology Program and other components of clinical services as appropriate.
- Maintain memberships in professional associations relevant to ambulatory surgery and healthcare administration.
- Foster a network of peers and industry experts in order to remain current with industry trends and changes in the healthcare environment, such as finances/reimbursement, legislative issues, best practices etc. and act accordingly in the best interest of the Center.
- Adhere to the Center's professional conduct policies and maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality.
- Perform related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required:
- Comprehensive knowledge of surgery center business operations.
- Working knowledge of standard accounting principles, financial statement review, and budget development.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including experience working with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability for self-direction and initiative.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in the Ortho / GI space.
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited College or University in Health Administration or a health-related field; and/or a Nursing Degree.
- Current Certification as a Registered Nurse in Arizona.
- At least five (5) years of healthcare-management experience.
- At least one (1) year experience in an ASC.
- Evidence of leadership qualities.
- Strong ethical and moral character references.
- Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American English.
- Computer literacy.
- Experience in Ortho and/or GI.
