NEDHSA is a designated approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans.- 2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000* for an initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice to clinicians.

Possession of an active, unencumbered, unrestricted and valid Louisiana registered nurse license to practice professional nursing or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state plus an active, valid Louisiana Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license or temporary permit.
NOTE:
The temporary APRN permit allows an APRN applicant to work in a limited capacity for up to 120 days while awaiting review for full APRN licensure by the nursing board. Responsible for performing the full scope of nursing practice involving a high level of autonomy and independent practice.
Plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care consistent with medical treatment and care in collaboration with a physician.

Performs comprehensive physical examinations, secures health histories, performs or orders laboratory tests and conducts other appropriate procedure to assess the health status of patients or clients.
