Jacobs Medical Center at UC San Diego Health is a 364-bed advanced medical center. Its medical services include advanced surgery, cancer care, cardiac rehabilitation, clinical trials, birthing options and more. There are 22 operating rooms (ORs), including a four suite Cardiothoracic OR that specializes in the most complex cases in the area. Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA and AORN Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
- RN License issued by the State of California.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Two (2+) or more years of Cardio-Thoracic Operating Room experience in an acute care hospital.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- BSN.
- 2 years of Scrub Experience in Cardiac Surgery.
- CNOR.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
