The Nurse Manager at Cayuga Cancer Center manages the nursing and clinical support team members in multiple locations and collaborates with the directors, leaders, and administrators to provide quality patient outcomes and satisfaction. The Nurse Manager has overall administrative responsibilities for clinical operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position requires a combination of clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of cancer care protocols.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Staff Leadership and Development: Provide leadership in recruitment, training, clinical competencies, and performance evaluations, and foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
- Patient Care Coordination :Facilitate multidisciplinary team collaboration to deliver high-quality patient care, and address patient and family concerns, ensuring a compassionate and supportive care environment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the Cancer Center operates in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources efficiently, including staffing levels, equipment, and supplies; manage staff to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement: Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Experience:
- NYS RN Licensure
- Prior Chemotherapy administration experience
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in managerial or supervisory role with a Cancer Center
- Five years in clinical setting with a minimum of one year of oncology nursing experience
- BSN in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
- Current OCN and/or ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., Use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 pounds), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.
