FCHC Medical Weight Management - Medical Assistant (MA)

Department: FCHC Medical Weight Management
Status Hours: Part-time, 48 hours bi-weekly
Shift: 1st Shift (flexible hours between 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM)

Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant at FCHC Medical Weight Management will play an essential role in patient care by escorting and assisting patients to exam rooms, taking and recording vitals, and preparing them for exams. The role also involves assisting the provider during exams, managing telephone and web inquiries, and completing medication and testing pre-authorizations. You will act as a liaison between the patient and provider, ensuring effective communication.

Job Responsibilities:

Escort and assist patients to exam rooms.
Record patient vitals.
Prepare patients for and assist with exams.
Answer and document phone calls and web encounters.
Discuss patient questions with the provider and relay information to patients.
Complete pre-authorizations for medications and testing.

Requirements

Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
Previous physician office experience preferred.
Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) software preferred.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
