We currently have an opportunity for an Nurse Manager
Position Summary
The Nursing Manager will provide direct supervision for all nursing personnel and ensure consistency with Cypress Creek Hospital philosophy relating to quality patient care through effective leadership. The Nursing Manager will collaborate with the supervisory and administrative staff to ensure the provision of high quality nursing care on a 24 hour a day/7 day a week basis. The Nursing Manager will also be responsible for coordinating supervision and direction of staff within all units. The Nursing Manager will make rounds on assigned units to assist with problem solving and coordinate the flow of the daily work routines. The Nursing Manager will assist in identification of opportunities for improvement, responsible for data collection, analysis of performance improvement monitors, and teaching.
Hours are based on departmental, and facility needs and may include day, evening, and weekend hours, as directed by the CNO or CEO/Managing Director.
Job Duties:
- Provide leadership and direction to hospital RNs, LVNs, CNAs and MHTs.
- Ensure appropriate staffing for number and acuity of patients on assigned shift.
- Participate in the nurse management team by assisting in the development of the hospital’s philosophy of nursing and policies/procedures.
- Serve as a role model in the delivery of patient care.
- Ensure proper handling and documentation of all emergencies, incidents, special procedures and patient complaints during shift.
- Assists in reviewing policies and procedures ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, State and Federal standards, organizational and facility policies/procedures.
- Regularly reviews patient charts for compliance with all applicable standards.
- Participates in hospital committees as needed.
- Participates in Administrator On Call rotation.
- Assists with milieu management and unit team leadership.
- Provide assistance with appropriate nursing intervention/documentation in crisis situations.
- Provide “real-time” staff education as needed.
- Interacts with patients and staff in professional manner, promotes teamwork. Adheres to UHS Service Excellence standards.
- Attends mandatory staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
