About the Position:
Here at the Oklahoma Forensic Center the Nursing department is hiring for Nurse Managerswhowould be assigned responsibilities involving the supervision and management of staff, program and units in an inpatient behavioral health facility. This includes responsibility for broad management issues in planning, organizing and integrating various functions for which responsibility is assigned and directing assigned staff in meeting the goals and objectives of the program.
- Open/Close dates: 10/23/2024-until filled
- $3.00/hr shift differentials when working evening, weekends or holidays
- $5.00/hr shift differential when working nights
- Primary Working Hours are: 2:30pm-11:00pm
- Primary Work Location: Oklahoma Forensic Center/Nursing
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and four years of professional nursing experience, two of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or a bachelor’s degree in nursing and three years of professional nursing experience, two years off which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or a master’s degree and two years of professional nursing experience in a supervisory capacity.
Special Requirements:
- Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
- Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
- Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.

About us:
The Oklahoma Forensic Center encompasses a 24 hour/365 day secure inpatient forensic facility, forensic step-down unit (TRC) and jail competency services for the State of Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC) located in Vinita employs around 260 individuals and has approximately 216 consumers whom have been found incompetent for adjudication or adjudicated as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity. Transitions Recovery Center (TRC) also in Vinita, is a secure 52-bed forensic step-down unit.
Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Pre-placement Testing: Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.
THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION MAY VARY DEPENDING ON BUSINESS NECESSITY. EMPLOYEES MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK WEEKENDS AND OVERTIME.
