Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Nurse Manager for NICU who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Nurse Manager you will:

• Role-model positive customer service behaviors.

• Role-model and encourage professional practice (to include nurse autonomy, authority, accountability, and responsibility) within their department.

• Operationalize the strategic plan for their department.

• Establishes, role-models, and upholds the standards of practice and expectations for the staff, monitoring performance, behaviors, competency, and conducts performance reviews.

• Consistently, timely, and accurately completes tasks necessary for service recovery, complaints, near misses, and adverse events.

• Actively leads and encourages staff participation in continuous improvement efforts, DMAICs, and shared governance.

• Promotes cohesive work teams and constructive conflict resolution both within the department and organization.

• Identifies and monitors resources necessary for safe delivery of patient care to include labor, equipment, and facilities in the department.

• Provides leadership for our Level III NICU with 36 licensed beds.

• Support is provided by 4 assistant nurse managers and a dedicated NICU educator. A clinical nurse specialist also provides support across the Women's & Infants' service line which includes NICU, L&D, Mother Baby, Lactation Services, and Outpatient Maternity Clinic.

• Executes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

• Baccalaureate Degree in nursing required,

• Master’s degree preferred

• Three years of work experience in department-specific area

• Supervisory experience preferred

• Current Maryland State nursing license

• Certification in leadership within 1 year of Eligibility

• Participation in professional organizations

• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

("Nicotine products" include, but are not limited to: cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping products, hookah, and nicotine replacement products (e.g., nicotine gum, nicotine patches, nicotine lozenges, etc.).
