Job Description

We’re searching for a Assistant Director of Nursing Professional Development, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position you will manage and provide oversight for system wide Nursing Orientation, Nurse Residency, Professional Development and Clinical Patient/Family Education. Incorporate evidence-based practices in initial clinical competencies as well as ongoing validation assessments. Evaluate program outcomes and address modifications as warranted. Utilizes reporting methods/tools to monitor and provide programming updates.

Responsibilities:

Directs the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programming for competency validation and ongoing professional development that meets all regulatory and Magnet requirements and positively impacts patient care. Designs innovative and interactive learning opportunities for nurses at all stages of clinical practice.
Provides direction and guidance in the establishment and evaluation of interdepartmental quality improvement initiatives for the purpose of enhancing clinical outcomes
Collaborates with nursing and medical leadership, staff, and other disciplines to incorporate interprofessional learning opportunities to ensure clinical excellence within a family centered care environment
Demonstrates astute fiscal accountability, for area responsibility, as evidenced by the appropriate management and justification of resources, which includes personnel, equipment, supplies, and capital
Facilitates development, revision and evaluation of patient and family education that promotes self-efficacy and age-appropriate understanding of health and illness
Responsible for continued self-development and ongoing development of departmental team.

Requirements:

Required master's degree Nursing
Required RN - Lic-Registered Nurses by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact
Required 5 years of nursing and/or leadership experience
