Job Description
VillageMD is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Virtual Care team with Village Medical. We’re growing and we’re looking for providers who share our passion for excellence and enthusiasm to drive positive change.
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant serves as an additional patient care provider virtually, augmenting and extending patient services provided by the health care team. The NP/PA will work closely with members of the team and have a reasonable amount of autonomy in the care and medical decision-making for patients.
Job Requirements
- Board Certification (NCCPA or AANP or ANCC)
- Education: DNP, FNP, ENP, or PA from an accredited program
- Licensed NP or PA (Multistate licensure/Compact licensure preferred in AZ, TX, KY, GA, CO, MI)
- DEA certification required or eligible
- A commitment of 3-12 hours night shifts per week (includes rotational nights, weekends and holidays)
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required
- Experience providing primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine or internal medicine for at least two years. Experience in virtual care/telemedicine preferred
- Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and EMR/EHR technology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Internet access per Village Medical policy
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, prescribe, treat, and educate patients all ages by phone, telemedicine or live chat (able to evaluate/treat/document in chart 3-4 pt per hour)
- Schedule follow-up appointments with patients as needed
- Provide chat-based support to patients
- Order, administer, and interpret diagnostic labs and studies
- Recording patient medical histories in the electronic medical record
- Create patient care plans and implementing existing care plans
- Participate in team meetings and conferences to enhance an interdisciplinary approach to health care delivery.
- Maintain current level of knowledge relative to professional practice.
- Maintain all required professional documentation, such as license, certifications, DEA as well as VM educational requirements
- Collaborate with physicians MD/DO on the Care Team as needed
- Reports to APP Director Virtual Care

- This is a full-time clinical position - FTE 1.0
- This is an annual salary position. Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to overall experience and qualifications
- Remote work (exempt from applicable overtime rules)
- Allowed Time Off (ATO): 160 hours annually. The use and administration of ATO days are governed by the terms of VillageMD’s ATO policy.
