Personal Care Attendants (PCA) must undergo 16 hours of education and 8 hours of supervised simulation to demonstrate competency before a PCA can have any direct contact with a resident. The training must be taught by a Registered Nurse and upon satisfactory completion, the PCA will work under the supervision of the licensed nursing staff and in collaboration with CNAs

Personal Care Attendants (PCAs - Non Certified) will work under supervision of the Nurse Manager and partner with Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) to provide routine direct nursing care to assigned residents/patients, following successful completion of a paid online training course. During this on-the-job training period, we will work with the Personal Care Attendant to further improve and expand his/her patient care skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Treat all residents and patients fairly, with kindness, dignity and respect.
Provide direct hands on care in accordance with treatment plans as directed by the Nurse Manager.
Answer resident call lights to address specific needs.
Assist with general activities of daily living and accompany residents to various activities and functions.
Demonstrate proper infection control practices/policies (including handwashing).
Aide in development of resident treatment plans and complete required care documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
Facilitate social visits to room-bound residents via FaceTime, Phone or Skype.
Demonstrate a passion for caring with co-workers, residents, families, and visitors.
Assist ONLY in two person transfers or lifting with certified or licensed personnel.
Report any injuries of an unknown source, including skin
Deliver all medications found in the resident's room/possession to the Clinical
Report any hazardous conditions and equipment to the Nurse Manager immediately.
Shift options: Mornings 7am - 3pm, Afternoon 3pm - 11pm, and Nights 11pm - 7am shifts available to choose from. Additional hours by request.
Education
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
High School diploma or GED.
Completion of CNA certified nursing assistant certification training and to pass CNA exam within 120 days to continue employment per the state guidelines for the PCA training program.
Ability to read and communicate at an adequate level to essential job duties.
Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect.
Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner.
Caregivers must complete our new hire orientation.
